Google to Buy Nielsen Data

Determined to sell more television ads, Internet search leader Google Inc. is sharpening its focus on the medium with demographic data from the influential Nielsen Co.
Under an agreement to be announced Wednesday, Google will pay Nielsen an undisclosed amount to obtain detailed information about the kinds of people who watch specific TV shows.
Yahoo CMO to depart

Yahoo CMO Cammie Dunaway will leave the company on November 2 to pursue another career opportunity, according to published reports. In more than four years at the company, Dunaway was responsible for key initiatives that focus specifically on the consumer including global branding and marketing efforts. Under her leadership, the Direct Marketing Association named the company 2006 Direct Marketer of the Year. Prior to Yahoo, Dunaway spent 13 years at Frito-Lay.
On October 16, Yahoo, Sunnyvale, CA, reported revenues totaled $1,768 million for the third quarter of 2007, a 12 percent increase compared to last year. Net income totaled $151 million, or $0.11 per diluted share, compared to $159 million, or $0.11 per diluted share, for the same period of 2006.
